Overseas UK Marriage Certificate

Notes for online ordering:

• This service is only for marriages outside of the United Kingdom between British Subjects. For marriages within the UK, please order England/Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland Certificates. All overseas marriage requests are subject to a search fee of £10.00+vat in the event that no entry is found owing the large number of requests we receive for non-recorded marriages.
• Certificates are original, certified copies acceptable for all official purposes
• The registration of an overseas marriage in the UK is not compulsory and will only be available to order if it has been recorded with either the local Consulate, Embassy or (High) Commission, or the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in London upon return to the UK.
• Marriage certificates are available from July 1837 to 2006.
• Under UK Law you can apply for any marriage certificate if you know their details

Groom's Full Name

Please provide the full name, including any middle names, of the groom.

Bride's Full Name

Please provide the bride's full name, including any middle names, as it was on the day of the marriage. This will be either the bride's maiden name or previously married name.

Date of Marriage

Please provide the date of marriage as best you can. If the exact date is unknown, please provide a year and a search will be conducted 2 years either side of this date to locate the record (i.e. If 1950 is supplied, we will check from 1948-1952 inclusive).

Place of Marriage

Please provide the country where the marriage took place.

Priority Service

Please indicate whether you require the certificate to be ready to dispatch in 8-10 working days on our standard service,or 3 working days on our priority service. For clarification, working days do not include weekends or bank holidays.

Apostille Required

Please indicate whether you need this certificate to be certified for use overseas (legalised) by the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, and the speed with which this service should be carried out. For more information on this service, please see our FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section.

Scan and Send
