Apostille Stamp for Existing UK Documents

This page is for requesting an Apostille to be added to an existing certificate. If you want to order a replacement document, with the Apostille, then simply go to the relevant certificate order page and add the required Apostille option. To order the certificate you require, choose one of the category links on the left-hand side of this page.

The Standard Service will provide the Apostille process completed within 10 working days and then sent back to you. (If you require a faster service please select either Express or Urgent service). We offer a range of delivery options to return your document to you wherever you live. Please note that whilst we do offer free standard delivery, we would strongly advise you to choose any of the at-cost delivery options as we cannot be held reliable for lost shipments where the item cannot be tracked.

Notes for Ordering Online

Apostilles are required where an overseas authority needs to validate the authenticity of a certificate as having been legally produced in the UK. The Apostille will be added by the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, which includes a raised seal from their office. The Apostille is also serial numbered which can be used to validate the Apostille's authenticity.

We can legalise the following documents:

  • UK Birth Certificate
  • UK Marriage Certificate
  • UK Death Certificate
  • UK Adoption Certificate
  • UK Decree Absolute (Divorce Record)
  • Probate Letter of Administration
  • UK Certificate of No Impediment (CNI)
  • Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Disclosure
  • Notarised Power of Attorney

Please see below for additional information if you need help completing the form above.

Guidance Notes

  • Note 1 - Birth, Marriage, Death & Adoption certificates must be original certified copies. We cannot legalise photocopies certified by a solicitor or Notary Public
  • Note 2 - Birth Certificates are advised to be the Long-Form version if the document is to support any legal or official purpose as Short-Form certificates are rarely accepted by any authority
  • Note 3 - Deed Poll change of name documents require certification by a UK solicitor or Notary Public before being legalised. If you have yet to arrange this certification, we can arrange this on your behalf. Simply choose the 'Non-Certified Deed Poll' option above
  • Note 4 - Power of Attorney documents must be countersigned by a Notary Public (not a solicitor) before being legalised
  • Note 5 - Original Passports cannot be Apostilled directly. A photocopy of the photo and details page must be supplied that has been certified by a practising UK notary or solicitor. Please do not send us your original passport.
  • Note 6 - Documents issued by Companies House can be legalised directly only if they have been signed by an officer of Companies House. If the document has not been signed, a Statutory Declaration will be required prior to legalisation. In this case, choose the "Unsigned Companies House Document" option.
